Tour Notes: This project is super cool. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished project.
Renovations are underway at the Westside Ironworks construction site, an adaptive re-use project that will convert two abandoned industrial buildings into modern shops and restaurants. The estimated cost for the project renovations are in the $8.5M ballpark. As of right now a few businesses are slated to open in the project. The first is Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar. Some of you may recognize the name from their first Atlanta location in Inman Park. The restaurant and wine bar is set to occupy a newly constructed freestanding building that is 4,000 square feet. The second building will be constructed to fit between five to seven retail tenants and other restaurant space. And from what we hear, Dixon Rye a home furnishings store, O-Ku an Asain Cusine restaurant and Tom Chee, a grilled cheese and soup joint, are three newly revealed concepts booked for the original building. More good news, the developers have pledged to preserve the industrial character of the remaining buildings as best as they can. Keeping Atlanta’s historical roots in the ground, reviving areas and creating new jobs is a win win in our book.
