A native Atlantan, David was intrigued with business from an early age. From sports memorabilia to Christmas trees and coffee shops, the list of David’s entrepreneurial endeavors is long. Most notably, Blue Sky Coffee, founded by David and his partner Noah Bluesky Pittard began with an award-winning renovation of an historic building, opened in 1995 and thrived until 2004 – becoming somewhat of an Athens, GA institution along the way.
David began his career in real estate in 2000 with his family’s development business: Lake Dow North Corp. As the company transitioned from marketing and selling residential lots to investing in commercial real estate ventures, David gradually assumed primary responsibility for financial and asset management. Several years after first investing with Darren and Sol, he began working with them on a full time basis. In all, David has been an investor and partner in 7 private companies and 23 real estate partnerships. Since becoming involved in commercial real estate brokerage in 2007, David has brokered over 1 million square feet in sales and leasing transactions.
David graduated with honors from the University of Georgia in 1995 with a degree (Cum Laude) in Finance and was admitted into Harvard Business School’s MBA program in 1999. An active CrossFitter and cyclist, he has completed the ING Half Marathon and the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia. David, his wife Erin and their two children live in Candler Park.
