The following message was sent by Roussan C. Francois inviting stakeholders to Promenade Park on June 23rd, at 8 AM to discuss the improvement of the Cascade Rd @ I-285 Interchange:
The Fulton County Department of Public Works/General Services- Transportation Division is conducting a scoping study of the Cascade Road at I285 interchange. The study will last approximately eight months and is being prepared in accordance with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Plan Development Process (PDP). The Department issued a Notice-to-proceed to the Consultant, Ayers and Associates, on April 30, 2015.
The need for the project is to improve access, congestion, safety and operations at the interchange and along the Cascade Road corridor in order to accommodate the growing residential population and employment generators in the City of Atlanta, Cascade area and the Sandtown community. The Purpose of the study is to assess the current and forecast demands and identify various alternatives to accommodate the existing and projected volume of trips needing access to the Cascade Road corridor. The study outcome will enable the County to compete and leverage federal and state funds for the overall design, right-of-way acquisition and construction of the project
